Blodwyn embodies the simple pleasures of camping, offering a back to basics and authentic campervanning experience. She has a cosy, handmade, rustic interior with a comfortable bed, ultimately helping you get straight out into nature for your trip. Enjoy panaramic views whilst road tripping in style!
Blodwyn comes with crockery & cutlery for 4, cooking equipment kettle, 2 camping chairs, electric hook up, bedding, blankets & cushions. She has a table which can be put up in front of the sofa inside the van and can seat 4/5 around with people sat on the unit, or it can be set up outside with the 2 camping chairs or picnic blanket. Inside she has plenty of storage space for all of your equipment, with cupboards along side the bed, under the sofa and in the wooden unit.
There are two portable gas hobs, cool box, a sink (no running water but we use the water dispenser included).
Bloddy has a mains hookup with 3 plug sockets so you can charge your phone, laptop, etc at campsites.
The van sleeps two but has five seat-belts so you can bring a tent and a group if you fancy.
She's great to drive but has a few quirks (gears and non power steering namely) which is why we insist on a short practice drive just to get used to her before you set off properly. She had a new engine last year, is reliable with good breakdown insurance if ever needed
The van also comes with daily driving insurance & breakdown provided through your booking with Camptoo.

Blodwyn is 30 years old so treat her gently. She can do 70mph fine, but you do have to build up to it, and we recommend a 15-30 minute break every 1.5-2hrs driving so she can catch her breath. We insist on a short practice drive just to get used to the quirks of her gears and systems before you take her out properly. Thank you.Show more Show less

First thing to say is that the hosts are fantastic people who put a big effort into making sure you have everything you need for your trip. Communication was second to none and the whole experience of renting was very easy thanks to the hosts.
Second is that Bloddy is a joy to drive. A quick test drive with Laurie made sure that we got used to the gears, and she made us fully aware of all of the need-to-knows. Considering Bloddy is 30 years old, she drives so well, and we never once felt like we were going to be in trouble. She eased through inclines and can quite easily pick up speed on long straights.
It was so comfy to spend a few nights in. Everything was provided for us - everytime we thought "oh we could use one of those", we found what we needed in a cubby.
I can recommend the hosts and Bloddy. Id give them both 100/10 if I could and we'll definitely be borrowing Bloddy again!
One final thing to say - the charm of Bloddy is what made us rent, but I expected a tough drive due to the age. It was completely the opposite.
The van itself is charming - decorated and stocked with real love. She's old, so don't expect perfect new hire-car condition. But then a normal hire doesn't have charm and is just a utility.
There wasn't a hill we couldn't get up, it was really fun to drive and live in, and embarrassingly, random strangers would come up and say how much they liked 'my' van.
We had a great break, Laurie was really helpful, and Blodwyn was fun and comfortable. Would definitely recommend.
