Meet Goldie, our home on wheels.
Practical and versatile, can park in a normal parking space and can take routes that larger vans and caravans are unable to take. She is a proper explorer van, from castles to coast, from forests to lakes. Located in the Southwest of England, we are perfect for the rugged Cornish Coast, quaint villages and towns of Devon and Somerset, Jurassic Cliffs of Dorset or perhaps the beautiful New Forest. We are also very close to The Cotswolds, easy access to Wales and only 1 hour from Bath and Bristol.
Goldie has two passenger seat belts and two lap belts, which means she can take five people in total, including two children (albeit one lap belt would not fit larger adults, children must not use the lap belts).
Goldie has a comfortable sofa that turns into a double bed, there is also the option of a good sized driveaway awning with additional double skinned bedroom (sleeps easily two adults or three children) for hire at a small additional cost (I will also supply with the awning a double inflatable bed). There is a built-in canopy above the side door, useful when it rains!
There is a good-sized storage space above the drivers cab, along with various other storage compartments throughout Goldie, including a small wardrobe. There are a range of power sockets throughout, I will supply an adapter plug with 4 usb ports for your gadgets.
The living area is comfortable, with a removable table. The front passenger seat turns 360 degrees and can be included into the living/sleeping area. The kitchen comes with two gas hobs, grill and oven. There are kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery etc.
I can supply two duvets with linens if required (hirer needs to bring own pillows), along with extra fleece blanket, at no extra cost. Hirer will need to specify on booking.
Goldie comes with four outside chairs, two portable outside tables, gas cylinder, pots and pans, cleaning materials and old-fashioned whistle kettle. Propane gas is inclusive.
Goldie will also come with hook up power lead, clean water hose and spare bulbs. A sat nav is available as an optional extra.
One of the outstanding features of this practical little van is that she has a toilet, sink and shower. I will supply blue fluid, the toilet is a simple cassette type which is very easy to empty.
There is a very effective heater in Goldie should it start to become cold, along with a cool air blower (not aircon), there are total blackout blinds on both sides and curtains at either end for complete privacy.
For safety, Goldie carries an AA kit and tool set, a fire extinguisher and fitted smoke/carbon monoxide detector. There is a good first aid kit available, along with disposable gloves and overshoes if needed. I also supply in the van, a selection of table games i.e. dominoes, solitaire, Jenga along with a selection of card games and DVD's.
The hire of Goldie includes vehicle insurance, you will be fully comprehensive. Your cover also includes RAC comprehensive and unlimited recovery, this policy covers additional overnight accommodation if necessary. Please note that as part of this insurance cover, the number of drivers is unlimited however, drivers must be 23 or over and 75 or under with a minimum of 2 years driving experience and holding a valid full license. There are a number of other conditions that may apply, it would be worth enquiring before hire if you have any motoring convictions, however, if you have held a completely clean licence for at least three years, there should be no issues.
Goldie runs really well, she has been up to the Scottish borders and all over the UK with ease. Reliable, can run on major roads comfortably at 60 - 65 mph.
Large awning with add on double skinned double bedroom. (£10 per day)
TV can be supplied for hirers own external hard drive or for playing DVD's, of which a selection are supplied (no additional cost)
Two single duvets with linen if required (no additional cost)
Sat Nav (no additional cost)
I will supply a selection of items for onward travel which will include washing up liquid, cleaning materials, J-cloths, tea bags, sugar etc.
