It protects us both in case of an accident or damage.
We have pasted below some key conditions of hire. Please ensure that you meet these - at least one hirer / driver in your group must meet all criteria.
Insurance: driver(s) conditions and required documentation
The insurance policy covers drivers from the UK, EU, America, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. Drivers with driving licences from other countries may be referred on an ad hoc basis. Drivers must have a minimum of 24 months driving experience since obtaining a permanent licence that allows them to drive a vehicle of the same class as the Insured vehicle (vehicles up to 3,500Kg).
The following documentation is required for all named drivers:
Copies, both front and back of the driving licence must be retained either digitally or a hard copy - bring your driving licence, we can take a photo.
2 proofs of address, one of which must be a utility bill, whilst the other can be one of the following:
Council tax bill/statement
TV/internet/landline telephone bill (Including Sky/Virgin/BT etc)
Bank or Credit statement
Credit card bill
The proofs of address provided must be dated within 90 days of the hire date and have the same address appearing on the driving licence.
For UK licence holders we also need:
DVLA online Licence Check must be carried out and a copy retained either digitally or a hard copy.
For Non-UK licence holders/residents we also need:
Copies of one (1) other form of photo ID (e.g. passport, ID card) must be retained either digitally or a hard copy.
Insurance is available for all drivers aged 21 – 79 and holding a full valid permanent driving licence in the countries listed for at least 24 months.
Other conditions of insurance: drivers
Insurance cannot be provided to any drivers who:
Suffer from any medical condition requiring DVLA/DVLNI notification unless authorisation has been granted by the DVLA/DVLNI.

Mechanical problems, e.g. clutch/gearbox due to driver negligence.
Any damage caused by a negligent act.
