The whole experience was fantastic, from initial contact with the hirer, the time taken to explain the various things about the camper van and the van itself. Great to drive, fairly compact (great for parking - just need two normal car spaces) and setting up is easy. The Custard Slice had everything needed for a couple of weeks getaway. When there were a couple of issues, Kim exceeded my expectations of how he helped me / responded. I'd definitely recommend this camper.

We’ve rented the van for an 8-day surf trip in Byron Bay. David and Lisa are wonderful people who gave us plenty of tips for our trip and did everything for improving our holiday experience (paid airport pickup, extra linen for the surf boards).
The van was very clean and fully equipped for a road trip (TV, A/C, kitchen, towels, mosquito nets). The overall experience was great, apart from small things such as the car windows that were not functioning and a relatively small bed (for 2 adults).
If you are planning a surf trip, you should be aware that because of the TV antenna and solar panels there’s no space for the surfboards on the top of the van. You can store them inside but they will fill a lot of space.
We had a minor issue with the water system that was leaking. Luckily we were staying in a camping site with all facilities and this did not affect our trip. David was not aware of the problem and will fix it.
Overall it was a great experience and we even received lots of compliments for the van!
