Take an Outlander-Inspired Road Trip
The Outlander TV saga isn’t only an adaptation of Diana Gabaldon’s beloved novels but is also the perfect inspiration for a Scottish road trip. Travel back in time as you drive through historic towns and villages, with plenty of sights to see in between.
You can start your road trip at Drumlanrig Castle, which is the magnificent building that was used as Bellhurst Manor in season 2 of the popular series. Other castles to check out that were used in the series include Doune Castle, Dean Castle and Blackness Castle.
For a beautiful seaside drive, consider checking out Fife as various filming locations are situated here. You can visit Dysart Harbour, Falkland and the ‘Fifie’ fishing boat The Reaper in this scenic town.
A great way to end your journey is to drive all the way up to Newtonmore, where you can explore the Highland Folk Museum that was the ideal choice for period-themed scenes throughout the series.
