Watch the video or read the recipe below for an easy camping recipe with kids.
Hot dog spaghetti – camping recipe with kids
- Can of hot dogs
- Pasta sauce
- Grated cheese
Cut the hot dogs into three equal parts. Pierce every hot dog part with 4 or 5 uncooked spaghetti sticks. That is something the kids may like to do! Do not stick the spaghettis too close to each other because they will expand in size when they are being cooked and the hot dog might fall apart.
Put the spaghetti hot dogs in a pan of boiling water and cook the spaghetti following the cooking time on the package. In the meantime, you can make a pasta sauce or heat up a pasta sauce from a can or jar. Drain the cooked pasta and serve on a plate. Add the pasta sauce and top with some grated cheese.
You will see that the spaghetti is now flexible and created something like spaghetti hot dog necklaces! (Don’t tell the kids that, things will get messy ;)) You can variate with the sauce toppings to your and your kids’ liking! Keep a look out on this page for more camping recipes with kids!
